Build connections in batches
Choose starting songs and get 3, 5 or 10 ranked suggestions for each, scored on tempo, key, shared tags and saved sound profiles. Approve, shortlist or reject them together. A recent batch can be undone.
Library intelligence for Rekordbox DJs · Mac
The Crate Manager maps the songs you play together, cleans up the metadata you care about, and gets crates ready for Rekordbox. Every suggestion waits for your ears.
Mac build 0.9.2 · in active development · public download coming later
Linked-song DNA. Every saved link on one canvas, each song labeled with its Camelot key. Focus a song to see its neighbors, then open a pair to audition both versions.
Why it is different
Most library tools guess at songs. The Crate Manager works with the exact files in your crate and the decisions you have already made.
Clean, Dirty Intro, Extended Mix. Links, crates and sets point at the file you will actually play, not a fuzzy song match.
Approving A → B does not approve B → A. Native Rekordbox Matching pairs stay visibly separate from your app decisions.
Your approvals and rejections tune genre-to-genre rankings. Plays, clicks and shortlists do not train it.
Preview, back up, then apply. Your music files and Rekordbox library are never silently rewritten.
A map of the transitions you trust, built from exact versions. Explore it, grow it in batches, and sync the pairs you approve back to Rekordbox.
My Connections, Mix Next, Organize, Discover and From My Sets. Organize groups songs by genre so unclassified tracks stand out. Discover finds bridge songs and forgotten tracks. Any view can open in its own helper window.

Check your native Rekordbox Matching links, then add only the approved pairs you select. A full database backup and a read-back check run with each sync. Save a named state of your app decisions before big changes.
Point it at gig history playlists and get a read-only report of the transitions you repeat, with session counts as evidence. Review those suggestions and approve the ones that earned it.
A model trained on your own approved library suggests genres and tags. You keep the final say, and the cleanup happens in reviewed batches.
A local model learns from the genres and tags you have already approved, then ranks suggestions for the rest of the collection. Keep intentional exceptions, and record why a song lives where it does.
Filter to tracks outside your approved genres and tags, then fix them with Title Case, find and replace, templates or approved-genre fills. Every before and after is shown before you apply. Save presets and undo the last batch.
Searches MusicBrainz and Wikipedia for the earliest original single or album and skips remixes, remasters and compilations. A year counts as verified only when two independent sources agree. Catalogue dates stay leads.
Load the local file, see its waveform and click to jump. Metadata decisions stay tied to what the track actually sounds like.
Requests, crates, sections and next-track ideas, all pointing at the exact file you plan to play.
Paste a client list or load a CSV. Each song is matched against your library, you choose the exact edit, and the crate exports as a playlist you import into Rekordbox. Missing songs and unavailable files are flagged first.
Build a crate from genre, tags, BPM range, file availability and connection status, such as songs with an approved DNA link. Save the rules as a live smart crate, duplicate crates, and read your Rekordbox intelligent playlist rules alongside them.
Opening, Build, Peak time and Closing, or your own sections. Add main tracks and alternates to each one, reuse sections from earlier sets, and send the main tracks to a crate.
Ranked next-track paths with the reasons behind each one: tempo difference, key relation and shared tags. Approve a direction, write audition notes, and future rankings follow your decisions.
Explore your collection by your own organization or by measured sound. Lasso a cluster to start a crate, batch edit metadata or research missing years.
Find what is missing, what is duplicated and what moved, then repair it with a preview and a backup first.
A read-only report of missing files, audio-fingerprint duplicate candidates, entries sharing one file and tracks outside every playlist. Fingerprints are computed on your Mac, and candidates are for auditioning, never automatic merges.
Clean, dirty, intro and remix edits are grouped by song for review. Mark them as intentional or choose a preferred version. Nothing is deleted, moved or merged.
Point the old folder at the new one, preview every proposed location, confirm the matches, and a backup is made before the new locations are remembered.
Daily and manual workspace backups with integrity checks. Preview a snapshot before restoring it, and a safety backup of your current work is made first.
Bring in a newer Rekordbox export. Import a fresh XML and carry your approved classifications, reasons, sets and transition notes forward. Uncertain matches wait for your review.
Start a separate library for a different kind of gig, and pick the look you want to stare at during a long prep session.
A guided planner proposes a genre and tag plan for a separate, empty library, such as a wedding library next to your club library. Edit the plan, add custom fields and switch libraries anytime.
From the signature blue and charcoal to Midnight, Ocean, Sunset, Daylight, Paper and High contrast.
Review your library away from the Mac. Decisions made on the iPad sync back to The Crate Manager on your Mac through your private iCloud.
Your ears have the final say
Rankings show their reasons. Sound measurements and transition ideas support listening. They do not replace it, and a ranking is never a promise of a perfect mix.
The app works with local files on your Mac. Online research and Spotify import run only when you ask for them.
Changes are saved in the app and exported to a separate XML copy. Native Matching sync adds only pairs you select, after a backup.
A few things to know
The Crate Manager is in active development for Mac. A public release date and download will be announced here when it is ready.
No. It is a local Mac companion for linked-song DNA, library review and set preparation. Performance, beat grids and USB export stay in Rekordbox.

No. The app runs on your Mac and your audio stays there. Release-year research and Spotify playlist import use online sources only when you choose them.
Not yet. Crates and sets export as playlists for Rekordbox, and device export stays in Rekordbox.
XML import works with standard Rekordbox exports. Experimental Matching sync has been validated on Rekordbox 7.2.19, including a live pair-restoration test. Close Rekordbox and its background agent before syncing.
